I run a beginner’s seminar on the first Saturday of every month, 8.00 am to 10.00am.
The seminar runs for two hours in which you will learn about the fundamentals of Japanese Swordsmanship.
The cost is R200 per person.

- The difference between Kendo, Kenjutsu, Battojutsu and Iaido
- Why do we train ?
- What is Bushido ?
- Ettiquette in the Martial Arts
- Introduction to the Bokken, Katana, Wakizashi and Iaito
- Ashisabaki – Footwork
- Tenouchi – Holding the sword
- Suburi – The heart of Japanese Swordsmanship
- Sensei/ Kohai – Teacher/ Student relationship
- Q&A session
No prior martial arts experience required and equipment will be provided. You can train in a comfortable tracksuit and t-shirt.
